Jeremy Rupke

Canadian Coach and Content Creator

I’m a husband, father, coach, and hockey player. I live by a principle of getting better every day. Through this principle I am working to always create better content, while also improving my abilities as a coach and father.

A core value I hold is a desire to help others. I have a deep passion for hockey which led me to launch HowToHockey.com in 2009. Shortly after I started a Youtube channel, Facebook page, Twitter account, and now Instagram and Snapchat. With a collective following close to 500 000 people, I have the largest following of hockey players outside of the two largest brands in the industry.

I publish new videos every week with the goal to educate, entertain, or motivate.

My Story

The Highlight Reel

The Highlight Reel

I loved hockey, and had a knack for making websites. When I couldn't find a comprehensive website that taught people how to play hockey I decided I would make one.

It's not easy explaining complicated movements in articles, so I decided I need videos! With a friend and a handycam we went out and shot a bunch of videos on an out door pond.

From 2010 - 2013 How To Hockey slowly moved from a small site and a handful of videos, to something that was (happily) consuming most of my free time. I decided that if I took things seriously and really focused, I may be able to share my passion for the game full time. Every day I worked to improve my coaching knowledge, hockey skills, or video skills.

Teaching hockey is awesome, but I also wanted to share other areas of the game. The culture, humour, locations and lifestyle. In 2014 I started a 2nd channel, and set out to create a new video every single week.

With Instagram taking off in popularity I saw a great opportunity to reach young hockey players and share more hockey content.

I was selected by Molson Canadian as 1 of 10 people across Canada who do Anything for Hockey. I was given the opportunity to play hockey 10 000 feet up on a pristine mountain top rink.

In 2016 and 2017 I hit some big milestones for my social media followings

                • 2016 - 100 000 Followers for my 1st Youtube channel
                • 2016 - 100 000 Followers on Instagram
                • 2017 - 100 000 Followers on my 2nd Youtube channel
                • 2017 - 50 000 Followers on Facebook
